Introducing Cassie:
Originally a scratched mid-century modern (MCM) table, Cassie was commissioned to complement the Art Deco-style chair pictured with her.  The Art Deco-style chair I previously worked on, paired with this latest piece, perfectly demonstrates the transformative power of upcycling and the beauty of blending pieces from different eras.

The Process:
The whole piece was stripped back to bare wood. Her legs were then ebonized, a technique that reacts with the natural tannins in the wood to achieve a rich, warm, dark finish. The tabletop was stained using a water-based dark oak stain.

Please bear in mind that this is a vintage piece that has had a previous long life, so you may find some signs of his previous life, but if you do they will not detract from the beauty of the finished item.
